ANC VETERANS LEAGUE ELECTION WEBINAR PROGRAMME

As part of the ANC’s election campaign, the Veteran’s League is arranging three webinars focusing on the key issues in the election campaign. It is aimed at equipping our members active in door-to-door campaigning as well as increasing the knowledge and understanding of the ANC by potential voters.

Veterans League members have been active on the campaign trail, going door to door and assisting senior citizens to register for special votes where necessary. During this Freedom Month, they have also participated in events and the media, focusing on the sacrifices and struggles that they experienced to achieve democracy 30 years ago and on the gains that have been made over the last 30 years.

The details of the webinars are set out below. The first two webinars focus on why voters should vote for the ANC and the third one closer to elections, focuses on the issues that may arise in election week.

The ANCVL NEC confirms that on 22 March 2024, a Notice of Motion Application was served on the ANC Veterans’ League, by 17 individuals who were members of an irregularly constituted ANCVL Provincial Executive Committee, in Gauteng. These individuals were purportedly elected at a Veterans’ League Conference of 91 delegates held on 16-18 October 2022 which was convened without the approval of the then ANCVL NEC.

It is the ANC National Executive Committee that established the official National Task Team (NTT) of the ANC Veterans’ League. The NTT was mandated to establish Provincial Task Teams in preparation for properly constituted elective provincial conferences, This process was completed in seven provinces and will be completed in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal before the end of this year. The NTT was also tasked to prepare for the third National Conference that was successfully held on 28 – 30 July 2023.

The ANCVL has filed a Motion of Intention to Oppose the said Application. We are confident that once all the issues are duly and fully ventilated in court, justice will be served.

As the ANC Veterans’ League NEC we wish to advise that no further comments and/or views will be expressed through the media.
